Privacy Policy

How Plumbing Booster handles your data.

Last updated: July 2026

Overview

Plumbing Booster is an offline-first engineering application. Your privacy is fundamental to our design philosophy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we process it, and how long we retain it.

Project Data

All project data — including plumbing calculations, fixture information, project details, and generated reports — is stored locally on your device. Plumbing Booster does not transmit, upload, or sync your project data to any server. Your engineering work remains private and under your control at all times.

Why We Process Your Data

We process only the minimal data required to operate the software and website:

  • License key and device identifier — used for license validation and to prevent license abuse
  • Google Analytics data — used to understand website traffic and performance
  • Anonymous notification analytics — used to measure the reach of in-app release announcements

License Metadata

To validate your license, Plumbing Booster transmits anonymous license metadata to our license server. This includes:

  • License key (for validation)
  • Device identifier (keypair-based, not hardware MAC address)
  • License status (active, trial, expired)

This data is used solely for license management and does not include any project or personal engineering data.

Offline Operation

Plumbing Booster operates fully offline. License validation uses offline tokens that allow continued use without internet connectivity for up to 7 days. The application reconnects periodically to refresh license tokens.

Anonymous Notification Analytics

When you open an in-app notification, the application sends an anonymous notification event containing the notification ID, platform type (Android, Windows, web, or iOS), and an anonymous device identifier. This information is used solely to count unique notification views and cannot identify you. No user identity, email, IP address, location, project data, or usage behavior is collected. You can reset the anonymous device identifier at any time by clearing the application's local storage.

Website Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect website traffic statistics, including page views, approximate geographic region, device type, browser information, and download button clicks. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using browser privacy extensions or Do Not Track signals.

Application Analytics

The desktop and mobile applications do not include general usage analytics or behavior tracking. The only telemetry transmitted by the application is limited license validation data and anonymous notification view events as described in this policy.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Your plumbing project files or calculations
  • Your personal engineering notes or designs
  • Your browsing history or usage patterns within the app
  • Your location or device hardware details (beyond license validation)

Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may process limited data when you use Plumbing Booster:

  • Google Analytics 4 — website traffic statistics (website only)
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery
  • License server — hosted on Cloudflare for license validation requests

We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.

Data Retention

We retain only the data necessary to operate the licensing system and website analytics for as long as reasonably required for security, licensing, and business purposes. License validation records are retained for the duration of your license plus a reasonable period for dispute resolution. Website analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings. Notification analytics are retained in aggregate form and cannot be linked back to an individual device after aggregation.

International Users

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on the location of our service providers. By using Plumbing Booster, you acknowledge that your limited licensing data may be transferred to and processed in such countries.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect license-related information against unauthorized access or disclosure. License keys are transmitted over encrypted connections. No payment card information is stored on our servers — payment processing is handled by our payment provider under their own security standards.

Children

Plumbing Booster is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

Since all project data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data. You can delete your data at any time by removing project files or uninstalling the application. License data can be cleared by deactivating your license. If you have questions about the limited licensing information associated with your account, you may contact us using the information below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. Continued use of Plumbing Booster after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
